Classic Majestic Rectangle • Saltwater Above Ground Pool Kit

Build the backyard the whole street ends up at

A proper rectangular swimming pool you can drop into almost any flat run of yard. Straight lines, a real swimming shape, saltwater all the way through, and a build that handles the Australian climate without rusting out in a few seasons.

ZAM coated posts and non-corrosive rails for our climate.

Summer, sorted at home

Most of the good stuff happens around the pool, not in front of a screen. Kids straight in after school. Mates who turn up on a Sunday and somehow do not leave. Long evenings where the only plan is staying in the water until the sun gives up.

The Classic Majestic Rectangle gives you that without the price tag or the dug-up yard of an in-ground build. It is a modular above ground pool kit, which means it arrives as components and is assembled on a prepared base, so you get a full-size swimming pool on a sensible budget and a timeline measured in days, not months.

Box it in with decking, raise it for a built-in look, or set it on a slab and fence it. However you finish it, you end up with the part of the house everyone gravitates to from October through to April.

Why a rectangle?

The rectangle is the shape to pick when you want a clear run to swim. Straight walls give you a defined lane for laps and the most usable swimming length for the footprint, and the clean lines sit naturally against decking, fencing and a square block.

It is one of several shapes in the Classic Majestic range. If a round, oval, teardrop or lap profile suits your yard better, we list those too, so you can pick the shape that fits your space. This one comes in four sizes, from a tidy 6.1m up to a generous 9.8m of length.

What lands in the delivery

Every Classic Majestic saltwater kit includes the pool and the gear to run it:

Double laminated vinyl pool wall

ZAM coated steel posts and post plates

Non-corrosive top and bottom rails

Heavy duty liner (Maui)

Pump and filter (cartridge or sand)

Saltwater chlorinator

Moulded ladder

Limited PVC fittings, nuts and bolts

Maintenance pack: vac head, hose, telescopic handle, scoop and test kit

Not included: filter sand (sand filter option only), PVC pipe and salt. We will tell you exactly what you need for your block, so there are no surprises on install day.

Built for Australian conditions

A cheap above ground pool gives you two or three good summers before the rails powder up and the wall starts to sag. The Majestic is built to a different standard.

ZAM coated posts. Zinc, aluminium and magnesium alloy coating that holds up far better than standard galvanised steel against salt and the elements. The structure is the part you cannot replace, so it is the part worth getting right.

Non-corrosive resin rails. Top and bottom rails that will not rust, pit or stain your liner.

Double laminated vinyl wall. A tougher, longer-lasting wall membrane than single-layer budget pools.

Saltwater throughout. The chlorinator runs off salt rather than handfuls of chemicals, so the water is gentler on skin and eyes and far less fuss to keep clear.

Build your pool

Use the options at the top of the page to set yours up. Three choices and the price updates as you go:

1. Size

Four lengths: 6.1m x 3.6m, 7.3m x 3.6m, 8.5m x 4.88m and 9.8m x 4.88m. All a standard 1.37m deep.

2. Filter type

Cartridge or sand. Both do the job. Open the panel below if you are not sure which suits you.

3. Deep end

Keep the flat 1.37m floor, or add a graded deep end for deeper water at one end. Good for lap turns and anyone who wants more than waist-deep at the far end.

Liner colour is set by the listing. This one is the Maui finish. See the full colour range below.

Cartridge or sand filter, which should I pick?

Cartridge. No backwashing, so you waste no water cleaning the filter, which matters under water restrictions. You rinse or replace the cartridge when it loads up. Lower upfront cost and the simplest day to day. A solid default for most backyards.

Sand. The familiar set-and-forget option. You backwash to clean it rather than handling a cartridge, and the media lasts years before it needs replacing. It does need filter sand to charge it, which is not included in the kit. A good fit if you prefer the traditional approach or already know your way around a sand filter.

Liner colours

This listing is the Maui finish. The liner sets the look of the water and the feel of the whole pool, so the Majestic Rectangle comes in five colours. Prefer a different one? Each is its own listing, linked below.

Buying a pool kit is the easy part. We handle the rest.

Anyone can sell you a box of pool components. The bit that trips people up is everything around it, getting it approved, getting it on site, and getting it installed properly. Classic Pools builds the kit. Direct Pool Supplies, in partnership with them, gets it approved, delivered, installed and looked after.

DA and council approvals

Above ground pools still need approval almost everywhere, and the rules shift between states and councils. We help you work out what applies to your block, what your certifier will want to see, and how to get the paperwork moving. We are not your certifier, but we will make the process far less painful.

Local installers

Rectangular kits need some on-site modification, the resin corner seats and rails are trimmed to size for a clean fit. Plenty of handy owners assemble their own, but we are happy to point you to installers in your area who do this week in, week out.

Delivery anywhere

We arrange freight to your door or direct to your installer. Tell us where you are and we will sort the logistics.

Aftercare and the rest of the gear

Free water testing, real advice from people who know pools, spare parts, and everything else you will want, solar blankets and rollers, LED lighting, steps and cleaners. Buy it all in one place.

Do I need council approval for an above ground pool?

In most cases, yes. Any pool that can hold more than 300mm of water is treated as a swimming pool under Australian rules, which means approval and a compliant safety barrier. What you actually need depends on your state and your local council.

The things councils and certifiers usually look at are the pool barrier or fence, how far the pool sits from boundaries and structures, and registering the pool once it is in. Some jobs can go through as complying development, others need a full development application.

Send us your address and a rough idea of where the pool is going and we will help you understand what applies and connect you with a certifier. Get this sorted before you order so the timeline runs smoothly.

What is involved in installing it?

The pool sits on a prepared, level base, either a compacted sand pad, crusher dust, or a concrete slab. Getting the base flat and square is the single most important part of the job and worth doing properly.

From there the posts, rails and wall go up, the liner is fitted, and the filtration and chlorinator are plumbed in. Rectangular kits need the resin corner seats and rails cut to size on site for a perfect fit, so they are a step up from a basic round pool.

If you are confident on the tools you can take it on yourself. If you would rather hand it over, ask us and we will suggest installers near you.

Common questions

Is it actually saltwater?

Yes. A saltwater chlorinator is included. You add pool salt to the water and the chlorinator does the rest, gentler on skin and eyes, and far less hands-on than dosing chemicals.

How deep is it?

1.37m as standard across the whole floor. Add the deep end option for deeper water at one end.

Can I install it myself?

Many owners do. The base prep and the corner modifications on a rectangle take a bit of care, so if you are not confident, ask us and we will suggest a local installer.

What is the lead time?

Liners are made to order, so allow time for manufacture and dispatch once your order is confirmed. Lead times stretch out the closer it gets to summer, so the earlier you order, the sooner you swim.

What is not included?

Filter sand (for the sand filter option), PVC pipe and pool salt are not in the kit. We will give you a clear list of what to grab for your install so nothing holds you up.

The pools that get used all summer go in over winter

Sort it now and you are swimming on the first hot weekend instead of joining the November queue with everyone who left it late. Pick your size, filter and finish above, add it to your cart, and our team will be in touch about freight, approvals and install.
