Electrolysis for Mineral Management:
The Hydroxinator MID iQ uses an ultra-long life reverse polarity (RP) cell to convert saltwater into chlorine while simultaneously managing magnesium levels for a gentler, mineral-enriched pool water experience. The system applies a controlled low-voltage DC current to its specially engineered cell plates, ensuring that chlorine production remains precise and efficient.
Smart Automation & Modes:
Operating in several modes—Normal, Low, and Boost—the unit allows incremental adjustments from 0% to 100% output in 10% increments. In Boost mode, the system produces chlorine at full capacity continuously for 24 hours to quickly elevate sanitizer levels. Low Mode, meanwhile, is designed for covered pools or periods of reduced usage, automatically lowering output to conserve energy and extend cell life.
Intelligent Sensor Integration:
A built-in smart temperature sensor automatically regulates chlorine production in cold water to prevent excessive cell wear. When connected with compatible pH and ORP sensors (via optional upgrades), the Hydroxinator can fine-tune its operation in real time, ensuring optimal water balance and quality.
Remote Control & Connectivity:
With iAquaLink enabled, the chlorinator integrates seamlessly with your home WiFi network, offering remote monitoring and control via a dedicated smartphone app. This connectivity extends to auxiliary devices—such as pool lights, heaters, and covers—allowing for complete, centralized pool automation.
Controller & Mounting:
The Hydroxinator MID iQ is designed for professional installation. The power pack controller should be mounted securely on a wall using the provided bracket, positioned at least 1.5 meters off the ground and within 2 meters of the electrolytic cell. The controller’s location should also comply with local safety regulations (typically at least 3.5 meters from the pool or spa wall).
Plumbing Integration:
Install the electrolytic cell as the last piece of equipment in the pool circulation line using standard PVC fittings (typically 40 or 50 mm). The cell must be mounted horizontally and in a bypass configuration if required, to ensure proper water flow and efficient chlorine production.
Electrical & Sensor Connections:
All electrical connections must be completed by a licensed electrician, following AS/NZ 3000 standards. The unit comes with integrated wiring for both low and high voltage. If installing optional sensors (pH, ORP, temperature), ensure these are correctly positioned within the plumbing system as per the manufacturer’s guidelines.
Auxiliary Devices:
For features such as multi-colour light control or pool cover mode, additional relay boxes or connection modules (item code WW000222) may be required. These should be installed and wired in accordance with the installation manual.
Routine Cleaning:
The Hydroxinator MID iQ is designed with an ultra-long life RP cell that incorporates an automatic reverse polarity function to shed calcium and debris. While this smart self-cleaning feature minimizes manual intervention, periodic visual inspections of the cell and sensor modules are recommended to ensure optimal performance.
Regular Inspections:
Check all electrical and plumbing connections routinely. Ensure that sensors remain calibrated and that the system’s warning indicators (such as low salt or no flow messages) are functioning correctly. Monitor water chemistry regularly to confirm that mineral levels and pH remain within the recommended ranges.
Software & Timer Programming:
Use the intuitive controller interface and the iAquaLink app to set and adjust operating modes and timers. The built-in timers can be programmed to align chlorinator operation with filtration pump cycles, ensuring energy-efficient and continuous sanitization. Take advantage of Boost mode during high-demand periods and Low mode when the pool is covered or less in use.
Seasonal Adjustments:
In colder weather, the smart temperature sensor will automatically lower chlorine production to protect the cell. Additionally, if the pool cover is engaged, the system will switch to Cover mode, reducing output to conserve energy and maintain balanced water chemistry.
