📋 How it works▾

Lo-Chlor Maxi-Floc Plus is a heavy-duty liquid flocculant that binds fine suspended particles into large clumps, causing them to settle to the pool floor within 3–6 hours where they can be vacuumed to waste — the most powerful clarification option for severely cloudy or murky pool water.

Where a clarifier works with the filter to remove particles gradually, Maxi-Floc Plus works faster and more dramatically — making it the right choice when the pool is so murky that normal clarification would take days, or when the cloudiness is too heavy for the filter to manage efficiently.

Choosing your size: The 1L is right for most residential pool emergency treatments. The 5L provides multiple treatments or suits larger pools where a higher dose is needed. The 20L is for commercial pools or service professionals.

For milder cloudiness where the pool bottom is still visible, Lo-Chlor Miraclear Liquid Clarifier is more convenient — no vacuuming required. For ongoing maintenance after floccing, the Lo-Chlor Miraclear Cube keeps water continuously clear with no effort. If cloudiness is caused by algae, treat the algae first with Lo-Chlor Pool Algaecide before floccing.

🔍 Does it suit my pool?▾

⚠ Important: Maxi-Floc Plus is only suitable for pools with sand filters. Check your filter type before use.

🏖Sand filter▾
✓ Compatible — sand filters only
Maxi-Floc Plus works by settling debris to the pool floor for vacuuming. Sand filters can be set to 'waste' for vacuuming, bypassing the filter bed. This is essential — if you vacuum floc through the filter it will cloud the water again.
🔵Cartridge filter▾
✗ Not suitable — use Miraclear Liquid instead
⚠ Maxi-Floc Plus cannot be used with cartridge filters. The settled floc clogs cartridge elements and cannot be vacuumed to waste without recirculating debris. For cartridge filter pools, use Miraclear Liquid Clarifier — it works with the filter to remove particles without settling.

🧂Salt chlorinated▾
✓ Compatible — works with all sanitiser systems
Maxi-Floc Plus is compatible with salt chlorination. Ensure your pump can be set to recirculate and waste for the flocculation and vacuuming process.

Safe for fibreglass surfaces. The settled floc sits on the floor and can be vacuumed without surface contact issues.
🧱Concrete / pebblecrete▾
✓ Compatible — most common use case
Concrete and pebblecrete pools are the most common application for flocculants. The settled debris is easily vacuumed from these surfaces.
💊 Dosage guide▾

Add to pool, run pump for 2 hours to distribute, then switch OFF pump and allow 8–12 hours for settling. Vacuum debris to WASTE — do not vacuum through filter.

Critical: set your multiport valve to WASTE before vacuuming floc. Vacuuming through the filter will cloud the water again.

What's the difference between a flocculant and a clarifier?▾
A clarifier (like Miraclear Liquid) coagulates fine particles into slightly larger clumps your filter can catch — convenient, no vacuuming needed. A flocculant (like Maxi-Floc Plus) binds particles into much larger clumps that sink to the pool floor, which you then vacuum to waste. Clarifiers are better for mild to moderate cloudiness. Flocculants are faster and more powerful for severe cases where the pool bottom is not visible.
Can I use Maxi-Floc Plus with a cartridge filter?▾
No — Maxi-Floc Plus requires a sand filter with a waste setting for vacuuming. For cartridge filter pools, use Miraclear Liquid Clarifier.
How long does it take to work?▾
The settling process takes 8–12 hours. For best results, add Maxi-Floc Plus in the evening, allow the pump to distribute it for 2 hours, then switch off overnight. By morning, debris will have settled to the pool floor and can be vacuumed to waste.
My pool is cloudy after vacuuming. What went wrong?▾
If the pool is cloudy after vacuuming, the floc was vacuumed through the filter rather than to waste. Check your multiport valve is set to WASTE, not FILTER, before vacuuming floc. Allow the water to settle again for several hours, then redo the vacuuming with the valve on waste.
Which size should I buy?▾
For a single green or murky pool emergency on a standard residential pool, the 1L is sufficient. The 5L is good value if you experience recurring cloudiness issues or have a larger pool. The 20L is for commercial pools or service professionals managing multiple pools.
