Lo-Chlor — Shock Treatments
AquaBoost Shock Treatment
⚡ Non-chlorine oxidiserPools, spas & pondsBreaks down organic load500g–20kg
📋 How it works▾
Lo-Chlor AquaBoost is a highly concentrated non-chlorine shock treatment and oxidiser using potassium peroxymonosulphate (MPS) — eliminating combined chlorine, breaking down organic matter, and restoring water clarity across pools, spas, hot tubs, ornamental ponds and fountains.
As an oxidiser, AquaBoost breaks up the organic compounds (body oils, sunscreen, biological matter) that consume chlorine and cause chloramine formation — the root cause of pool smell, eye irritation and reduced sanitiser performance. The potassium peroxymonosulphate formulation oxidises these compounds rapidly and completely.
Non-chlorine shock — no additional chlorine introduced
Reduces combined chlorine and eliminates organic contaminants
Suitable for pools, spas, hot tubs, ornamental ponds and fountains
Available in four sizes: 500g, 1kg, 5kg and 20kg
Enhances the effectiveness of chlorine and bromine sanitisers
Choosing your size: The 500g and 1kg are ideal for residential pool or spa use. The 5kg suits regular weekly shocking of larger pools. The 20kg drum is for commercial pools, resorts or pool service professionals managing multiple sites.
For combined pool and spa systems, AquaBoost is safe to use across both. For immediate algae treatment rather than organic load removal, combine with Lo-Chlor Pool Algaecide or Lo-Chlor Algae Knock-Out for a complete treatment.

per 50,000 L
Weekly or fortnightly dose for organic load management. Dose in the evening.
Spa / hot tub
50 g
per 1,000 L
After each use. High water temperature means rapid organic buildup. Dose after every use or at minimum weekly.
After heavy pool use
400 g
per 50,000 L
After parties or high bather loads. Dose in the evening for overnight treatment.
Ornamental ponds
2–5 g

Helps control organic build-up in ponds. Scale dose to pond volume.
❓ FAQ▾
How is AquaBoost different from Shock n Swim?▾
Both are non-chlorine MPS shock treatments. Shock n Swim is formulated specifically with 15-minute re-entry as a key feature. AquaBoost is a broader oxidiser — suitable across pools, spas, ponds and fountains — with a focus on concentrated organic load elimination. Both use potassium-based oxidation chemistry.
Can I use AquaBoost in a bromine spa?▾
Yes — potassium peroxymonosulphate is compatible with bromine sanitiser systems and is actually the recommended oxidiser for bromine spas, helping to regenerate spent bromine compounds.
Will it affect my pH or alkalinity?▾
MPS-based oxidisers can slightly lower pH over time with repeated use. Monitor pH monthly and adjust as needed with pH increaser if required.
Which size is right for me?▾
For a residential pool with weekly shocking, the 1kg provides about 5–10 treatments. The 5kg is good value if shocking is a regular part of your routine. The 20kg is for commercial or multi-pool use.
