Does the iSkim clean the pool floor and walls?
No. The iSkim is a dedicated surface skimmer and works the waterline and water surface only. It is designed to capture leaves, pollen, insects and floating debris before they sink, which is where most of the organic load in an Australian pool comes from. For floor, wall and waterline scrubbing you would pair it with a submerged robotic cleaner such as the Beatbot AquaSense 2 or a Sora model.
Is the charging adapter included?
No, the charger is sold separately. It brings the iSkim to a full charge in around 4.5 hours. The other route is the 24 W solar panel, which uses SolarTrack light chasing to top the battery up while the unit works, and that is what lets the iSkim run continuously without being plugged in at all. Most owners run on solar day to day and keep a charger on hand for overcast stretches or when they want a faster turnaround. In the box you get the unit, two foam noodles, the user manual and the quick start guide.
How long does it run without sunlight?
More than 28 hours from a single full charge with no sun at all. With the 24 W panel and SolarTrack light chasing working through a normal Australian day, the iSkim tops itself up while it skims, so in practice it keeps running continuously rather than working in scheduled cycles.
Can I leave it in the pool all the time?
Yes. The iSkim is built for continuous operation and parks itself at the pool edge when a cycle finishes. Lift it out before adding shock treatment or any concentrated chemical dose, and take it out ahead of severe weather, but day to day it is designed to live in the water.
Will it handle a saltwater pool?
Yes. The housing is ASA, which resists UV, salt and chlorine, and the electronics are sealed to IP68. It is rated for salinity up to 5,000 ppm and free chlorine up to 4 ppm, which covers every domestic saltwater chlorinator setup in Australia.
How often does the basket need emptying?
The 9 litre basket is the largest Beatbot builds and holds roughly 800 leaves. Through spring and summer most owners empty it weekly. In heavy leaf drop or after a windy few days you will want to check it more often, and the anti spill flap means whatever it has collected stays in the basket until you do.
Does it work on any pool shape?
Yes. The iSkim uses dual ultrasonic sensors and an inertial measurement unit to navigate rather than a stored map, so it handles freeform, kidney, lap and rectangular pools without setup. Dual guided wheels steer it into corners and along walls, which is where floating debris naturally collects.
Does it replace my skimmer box?
No, it works alongside it. Your skimmer box only draws debris that happens to drift past the inlet, while the iSkim actively works the whole surface and captures debris wherever it is floating. The two together mean far less organic matter reaching the floor, which reduces chlorine demand and the load on your filter.
What warranty does it come with?
