Lo-Chlor Summercare Pool Algaecide is specifically formulated for hot summer conditions — a treatment and prevention algaecide optimised for the peak swimming period when heat, UV and heavy bather loads create the most demanding conditions for algae control.

What sets Summercare apart is its effectiveness across a wide pH range (7.0–8.0). In hot weather, pH tends to drift upward as evaporation concentrates pool water. Many algaecides lose effectiveness as pH climbs — Summercare maintains performance across the full range, making it more reliable during Australian summer conditions.

Most algaecides have an optimal pH window. When pH rises above 7.6 — common in summer as evaporation concentrates the water — some products lose effectiveness. Summercare is formulated to maintain performance from 7.0 to 8.0, giving it a meaningful advantage during Australian summer conditions.
How is Summercare different from Tropiclear?▾
Lo-Chlor Tropiclear is a higher-concentration formula developed specifically for Queensland tropical climates and heated pools. Summercare is optimised for general summer conditions across Australia with its wide pH range advantage. For QLD or heated pools, Tropiclear is stronger. For southern states in summer, Summercare is the right choice.
Can I use Summercare year-round?▾
Yes, though in cooler months you're likely over-treating for the conditions. In winter, switching to Winteriser is more economical — one dose covers the season. Summercare's strengths (heat stability, wide pH range) are most valuable from October through April.
