Saltmate chlorinators, fitted for $99.
$99 install
Fitted by our own technicians for $99, normally $185.
Canberra, Sydney, Newcastle, Gold Coast,
Sunshine Coast and Cairns.
Install available in serviced postcodes only. Standard changeover on existing 50mm pipework. Electrical work, repiping and difficult access are not included. Installations run Monday to Friday during business hours.

A chlorinator changeover means the pool is off for a few hours and the water sits untreated overnight. In September nobody notices. In December it is a green pool and a ruined weekend. Buy any Saltmate chlorinator below, choose the option with installation when you add it to your cart, and one of our own technicians fits it, commissions it, sets the output to your pool and takes the old unit away.

Step one

Can we get to you?

Enter the postcode where the pool is, not your billing address. We will tell you straight away whether the $99 install is available there.

Step two

Get the size right.

A chlorinator is rated by how many grams of chlorine it produces per hour. Too small and it runs flat out all summer and still cannot hold a level, which wears the cell out early. Too big and you have paid for output you never use.

Climate matters as much as volume. The same pool in Cairns burns through chlorine at roughly twice the rate it does in Canberra, so if you are up north, err on the larger unit.

Sizes are Saltmate maximums for cooler areas, which covers Canberra, Sydney and Newcastle. A hot climate roughly halves what a chlorinator can hold, so on the Gold Coast, Sunshine Coast and in Cairns, take the next model up. If you are near the top of a range, size up.

Not sure of your pool volume?

Length times width times average depth, in metres, times 1,000 gives you litres. A typical 8 by 4 metre pool at 1.5 metres average depth is about 48,000 litres. If you would rather just tell someone the shape of your pool, call us on 1800 648 363 and we will size it for you.

Self cleaning is worth the difference

The RP models reverse the polarity across the cell on a cycle, which shakes calcium scale off the plates by itself. On a standard chlorinator you pull the cell out and soak it in acid every few months. If your water is hard, that job never gets easier.

Does your chlorinator also run your pool light?

Some older units have the 12 volt light transformer built into the same box. Call us before you order so we can sort it properly, because it is not something to discover on the day.

What happens next

From checkout to swimming.

1

Pick the install option

On the product page, choose the option that includes installation before you add to cart. Then use the address where the pool actually is. If we have the wrong address we cannot book you in.

2

We call you

Within one to two business days of your order, to arrange a time that suits you.

3

Your unit gets to site

Allow a few days up to a week for the unit to reach your area, depending on the model and where you are.

4

Fitted and running

Old unit gone, new one commissioned, output set, water tested, back to swimming.

Installations run Monday to Friday during regular business hours. We do not install on weekends or public holidays. Slots in each area are limited and they go quickly once the weather turns, so the earlier you order the more choice you have over the day.

No surprises

Exactly what $99 covers.

A cheap install price is worthless if the technician turns up and starts adding things. Here is the whole scope in plain English.

Included

  • Removal and disposal of your old chlorinator
  • Mounting the new power supply
  • Cutting the cell housing into your existing 50mm return line
  • Fittings, glue and a pressure test

  • A full water test before we leave

Not included

  • ×Any electrical work, new outlets or switchboard changes
  • ×Repiping or relocating your equipment
  • ×Pool light transformer rewiring
  • ×40mm pipework adapters, quoted on site if needed
  • ×Salt, chemicals or balancing the water

Why now

Chlorinators never die in winter.

They die on the first properly hot weekend, when the pump has been running twelve hours a day for a fortnight and the cell finally gives up. That is also the exact moment every pool technician in your suburb is already booked out.

Replacing it now costs you nothing in lost swimming. The pool is off for a few hours, the water sits untreated overnight, and nobody notices because nobody is in it. Do the same job in December and you are looking at a green pool, a shock dose and a weekend written off.

If your unit is eight years old or more, or you are already topping up with liquid chlorine to keep the level where it should be, it is on its way out. Better to choose the day yourself.

Where we fit them

Our own technicians, not subcontractors. Coverage is by postcode rather than by suburb name, so check yours above to be certain.

Questions we get asked.

How soon will it be installed?

We will call within one to two business days of your order to arrange a time. Allow a few days up to a week for the unit to reach your area, depending on the model and where you are. Installations run Monday to Friday during regular business hours.

How long does the install take?

Most changeovers take between one and two hours. The pool needs to stay off while the glue cures, so we ask that you leave the pump off overnight and turn it back on the next morning.

Do I need to be home?

Not necessarily, as long as our technician can reach the equipment and the power. Tell us when we call to book and we will sort out access.

I ordered without the install option. Can I add it?

Call us on 1800 648 363 before your order ships and we will sort it out. The install option has to be chosen on the product page before you add the chlorinator to your cart, so it is easy to miss.

I put in the wrong address. What now?

Call us on 1800 648 363 as soon as you can. The install address needs to be where the pool is, not your billing or postal address, and getting it right early saves a lot of back and forth.

What does self cleaning actually mean?

The RP models reverse the polarity across the cell on a cycle, which shakes calcium scale off the plates by itself. On a standard chlorinator you have to pull the cell out and soak it in acid every few months. Self cleaning removes that job entirely.

What if I am outside your service areas?

You can still order any chlorinator on this page and we will ship it to you. Every unit comes with full instructions, and if your own installer has a question our team is on the phone.

Sort it while the pool is cold.

Technician slots in each area are limited, and they go quickly once the weather turns.
