🫧 What Anti Foam does▾
Foam in a spa is a surfactant problem, not a sanitation problem. Body products, skin oils and cosmetics lower the water's surface tension and the jets do the rest. It is common after heavy use, when multiple bathers have been in together, or when hair and skin products have been introduced to the water. AquaSpa Anti Foam is fast-acting: a small amount added directly to the foam usually clears it within minutes.
The 500ml suits occasional use. It does not address the underlying cause of persistent foam, which is usually body product residue building up in the water over time. If foam returns regularly between water changes, dose Spa Shock more frequently and consider running Pipe Klenz at the next water change to clear residue from the pipework.
AquaSpa Anti Foam details
Highly effective, fast-acting foam suppressor
Safe on spa surfaces, jets and equipment
Compatible with all AquaSpa chemicals
Use only when foam is present - not as a regular additive
Add directly to the foam with the pump running. Do not overdose: a small amount is sufficient.
Initial dose
2 capfuls
to foam surface
Add directly to the foam with the pump running. Allow to circulate before assessing.
If foam persists
Add in small increments
Wait 5 minutes between additions. Do not dose large amounts at once.
Persistent foam
Investigate the cause
Recurring foam usually means body product residue in the water. Increase Shock frequency and run Pipe Klenz at the next drain.
❓ FAQ▾
Is foam a sign something is wrong with the water chemistry?▾
Not necessarily. Foam is almost always a surfactant issue, not a sanitation or chemistry failure. The most common causes are body products, skin oils and hair care residue entering the water. Anti Foam clears it quickly, but if foam keeps returning, increasing your Spa Shock frequency and running Pipe Klenz at the next water change will address the root cause.
Will Anti Foam affect my sanitiser levels?▾
No. Anti Foam does not interfere with AquaSpa Sanitiser, pH or alkalinity levels.
Can I add too much Anti Foam?▾
Yes. Add a small amount directly to the foam and wait for it to clear before adding more. Overdosing can leave a residue in the water. A capful or two is usually more than enough.
How is foam different from bubbles from the jets?▾
Jet bubbles are normal and clear when the jets are turned off. Foam sits on the surface and does not dissipate on its own. If it persists after the jets are off, it is a surfactant issue.
