Lo-Chlor Instant Filter Cleaner is a non-soak spray-on formula for cleaning pool and spa cartridge filter elements — removing oils, minerals, calcium and biological debris in a single application without overnight soaking.

Traditional cartridge filter cleaning requires soaking the filter element in a cleaning solution for hours or overnight before rinsing. Instant Filter Cleaner's non-soak technology penetrates the filter media immediately, breaking down deposits on contact and allowing the filter to be back in service within an hour — dramatically reducing pool downtime.

Designed specifically for cartridge filter elements. Spray evenly over the full filter surface, allow 5–10 minutes, rinse thoroughly with a hose.
🌊DE (diatomaceous earth) filter▾
✓ Compatible with DE filter grids
Can be used to clean DE filter grids when removed for servicing. Rinse thoroughly before recharging with DE powder.
🏖Sand filter▾
✗ Use Enviro-Clean for sand filters
Sand filter media does not benefit from spray-on cartridge cleaner. Use Lo-Chlor Enviro-Clean for sand and glass filter media.

Remove filter cartridge from housing before cleaning. Clean outdoors if possible.

Standard clean

Lay filter on its side. Spray evenly from top to bottom, rotating filter. Allow 5–10 minutes, then rinse with a strong hose stream.
Heavy fouling
Two-pass application
For filters with heavy oil or calcium buildup, apply a second coat after the first rinse. Allow contact time and rinse again.
Cleaning frequency
Every 3–4 months
or when pressure rises
Replace or clean the filter when system pressure rises 10+ kPa above the clean baseline. Don't wait until the pool is cloudy.
Replace when worn
Inspect for damage

Each cleaning is an opportunity to inspect for cracked end caps, torn pleats or collapsed cores. Replace any damaged elements.

How often should I clean my cartridge filter?▾
Every 3–4 months under normal residential use. Spas need more frequent cleaning (monthly). The best indicator is rising system pressure — clean when pressure rises 10 kPa above the clean baseline or when flow visibly decreases.
Can I put the cartridge back immediately after cleaning?▾
Yes — that's the key advantage of the non-soak formula. Once rinsed thoroughly, the cartridge can be reinstalled and the system restarted. Allow the rinse water to run clear before reinstalling.
How many cleanings does a 500ml bottle provide?▾
Depending on filter size and fouling level, a 500ml bottle typically provides 3–6 cleaning cycles for a standard residential pool filter cartridge. Smaller spa filters require less product per clean.
