🫧 What Sudsaway does▾

Foam in a spa comes from surfactant build-up: body products, cosmetics and natural skin oils reduce the water's surface tension, and the jets turn it into foam. It is not a sanitation issue and it does not disappear on its own. ILUKA Sudsaway removes it quickly. A small amount applied directly to the foam when it appears is usually enough.

Persistent foam that returns regularly between water changes is a sign of surfactant build-up in the water itself. Sudsaway clears the visible foam, but the underlying cause is best addressed by increasing the frequency of Eliminate dosing and running ILUKA Purge at the next water change to clear residue from the pipework.

Is foam a sign something is wrong with the water chemistry?▾

Not necessarily. Foam is almost always a surfactant issue caused by body products, skin oils and hair care residue in the water. It is not a sanitation failure. Sudsaway clears it quickly, but if foam returns regularly, increasing the frequency of Eliminate dosing and running Purge at the next water change will address the root cause.

How much Sudsaway do I need?▾

Very little. A small amount applied directly to the foam with the pump running usually clears it within minutes. Add in small increments rather than a large amount at once.

Can I use Sudsaway every week as a precaution?▾

No. Sudsaway is a reactive product for when foam is present, not a regular additive. Using it preventatively can cause imbalance in the water. Consistent use of Eliminate weekly is the preventative approach.

Will Sudsaway affect my ILUKA water balance?▾

No. Sudsaway does not affect pH, alkalinity, calcium hardness or sanitiser levels when used as directed.
