🌿 What Purify does ▾

Most spa sanitisers do one thing and stop there. ILUKA Purify goes further. Built around a concentrated blend of SDIC (Stabilised Dichloroisocyanurate) and Borax (Sodium Tetraborate Pentahydrate), Purify sanitises effectively while simultaneously improving the balance and feel of your water. The Borax component is what separates it from a standard chlorine product. It buffers pH naturally, reducing the fluctuations between weekly doses, and gives the water a softness that shows up on your skin from the first soak.

ILUKA Purify is effective across a wide pH range and works in both hot and cold water, making it unusually forgiving for a sanitiser. It is the foundation of the full ILUKA system. Everything else in the range, from the Magnesium, Potassium and Ocean Trace Element supplement ILUKA Bliss to the Chitosan-based clarifier Seachange, layers on top of the clean, balanced base that Purify creates.

🛁Acrylic or fibreglass hot tub▾
Compatible - designed for home spas
ILUKA Purify is built for the acrylic and fibreglass home spa. Its Borax component actively conditions the water in the high-temperature environment of a hot tub, where pH tends to drift and water balance requires more consistent attention.
🏊Swim spa▾
Compatible - scale dose for volume
Swim spas require a proportionally higher dose. Measure your water volume accurately and follow label directions. Swim spas with high bather loads will need more frequent water testing and may require additional treatment between weekly doses.
🧱Concrete or tiled spa▾
Compatible - maintain water balance
ILUKA Purify works well in concrete and tiled spas. Maintain pH in the 7.2 to 7.6 target range to protect tile grout and surfaces. The Borax buffering in Purify helps keep pH more stable between adjustments compared to standard chlorine products.

Ozone systems reduce overall sanitiser demand. You may find a lower maintenance dose of Purify is sufficient when paired with an active ozone generator. Test regularly and adjust to maintain effective sanitation levels.

Recommended, with one preparation step
Even new spas can carry residue in the pipework from factory water testing. Use ILUKA Purge before filling to clear the pipes, then start the ILUKA system fresh. The ILUKA In A Box starter kit has everything you need from day one.
📏 Dosage guide ▾

Dose is 6 grams per 1,000L weekly. Test water before dosing and maintain pH between 7.2 and 7.6 for optimal performance. Run filtration during and after treatment. Always refer to the product label for confirmation.

First fill
Run ILUKA Purge before filling to clear factory residue from new pipework. Balance water and confirm pH before the first dose of Purify.
Weekly maintenance

After heavy use
Test after heavy use. If sanitiser levels have dropped, apply an additional dose and follow with ILUKA Eliminate to clear the increased organic load.

How does Purify differ from standard spa chlorine?▾
Most spa chlorine products are SDIC alone. ILUKA Purify adds Borax to the formula, which does two things a standard product cannot. It buffers pH naturally, reducing the swings you would otherwise manage with separate adjusters, and it softens the water feel noticeably. Bathers consistently notice the difference compared to a traditional chlorine spa.
Do I need ILUKA Eliminate as well as Purify?▾
Yes. ILUKA Eliminate is a non-chlorine oxidiser that destroys organic contaminants that sanitation alone cannot break down. Body oils, cosmetics and sweat residue accumulate rapidly in a heated spa. Without regular oxidising, they reduce sanitiser effectiveness and cause cloudiness and odour. Used together weekly, Eliminate and Purify keep water genuinely clean.
Can I use ILUKA Bliss and Seachange alongside Purify?▾
Yes, and this is exactly how the ILUKA system is designed to work. ILUKA Bliss and Seachange layer the mineral and clarifying benefits on top of the clean, balanced base that Purify creates. There is no chemical conflict between them.
How often should I test the water?▾
Weekly as a minimum. Test chlorine levels, pH and total alkalinity before adding any chemicals. The target pH range for ILUKA Purify is 7.2 to 7.6. Use ILUKA Elevate to raise pH or ILUKA Descend to lower it if readings are outside range.
Where do I start if I am new to ILUKA?▾
